A Mother's Love

I never feared what she feared when my mom said, “Be careful.”
When she told me to drive slower.
Have a good day at school.
Look both ways.
I never saw what she saw when my mom said “You’re beautiful.”
That I’m a child of God.
To be a friend.
And stand tall.
I never knew what she meant when my mom said “I miss you.”
To “Call me when you get there.”
“Remember your coat.”
And “Come back soon.”
I never felt what she felt when my mom said “I love you.”
And “You’re my everything.”
“My sunshine, my only sunshine.”
“My baby.”
I do now, my son.

Audrey, your sweet poem melted our hearts. We’re so thankful that you and Corbin have given us another great grandchild—our first great grandson! Much love, Deane & Nancy
This is beautiful :)
