Reacting to my 2025 New Year's Resolutions

Though I say the same thing every December, this year I mean it even more. 2025 truly passed in the blink of an eye (probably because I was completely consumed with growing, birthing, and raising a baby).
Between breastfeeding, cat-naps, and my book project, I managed to complete a few of my New Year’s Resolutions. Can you believe it?
1. Develop my “Mom Skills”
At the beginning of the year, I decided that my baby’s arrival would be the start of my mom training. I started to cook more intentionally, keep a cleaner house, and preserve our rare harvests of fresh produce.
2. Have a regular workout routine with my baby.
I’m proud to say that my baby and I are total gym rats. We start almost every morning lifting, pulling, and stretching to our hearts’ content. I can honestly say our work outs feel even better with a baby.

3. Regularly write about my thoughts, feelings, and life.
This past year I made an effort to record more of my personal life through photography, sketches, and blogging (hey). As I did, I became more appreciative of the beauty in my life and felt gratitude for things I might have taken for granted.

4. Upload regularly to YouTube.
Does a couple times count as regular?

5. No unnecessary clothing purchases.
Smashed this.

6. Keep a consistent, creatively inspiring sketchbook practice with the help of Patreon courses.
I loved tuning into Sarah Dyer, Emma Carlisle, and Rebecca Green’s Patreons for monthly sketchbook inspiration. I’ve decided to dedicate a lot more energy towards my sketchbook practice in 2026 and push myself using creative constraints (I'm recording the process on my own Patreon page if you'd like to check it out).
And that’s a wrap for 2025! I'm grateful for all the goodness and hard-ness that came my way this year. Becoming a mother made it a year of transformative change, spiritual gateways, and profound love. I wouldn’t change it for anything.
